Christmas Tradition for Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Fans

For wrestling fans in Charlotte NC and Greenville SC and a few other lucky towns around the Mid-Atlantic area, Christmas was like it was for most any other family. On Christmas morning, kids raced to see what Santa Claus had left them the night before. Families gathered for a feast of a Christmas turkey or that special honey baked spiral-sliced ham. Mom and Dad kicked back and relaxed after weeks of work to get ready for the big day. Many as well went to church, to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Yes, this was the routine on Christmas morning and most of Christmas day. But for many folks, Christmas night meant something else entirely: Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling.

Charlotte always hosted a big Christmas event, and for many years Crockett ran as many as three Christmas night shows, in Greenville SC and one other town.

This special section of the site is dedicated to a look back at those shows through nostalgic newspaper clippings and results. Each page features a spate section for each show held on Christmas night.

Enjoy this look back at the special tradition of Mid-Atlantic wrestling on Christmas.
