In May of 1974, the Anderson Brothers leave the Mid-Atlantic area to wrestle in Georgia full time for a seven (7) month period of time. Listed below are some selected Georgia Wrestling highlights from that year.

 

MAY 3, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
Ole & Gene Anderson defeat Earl Maynard & Tiger Conway, Jr. in one of their early matches back in the Georgia territory.

MAY 31, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
Ole & Gene Anderson defeat Bob Armstrong and Robert Fuller to win the Georgia Tag Team Championship.

JUNE 1, 1974 - GRIFFIN, GA
Jerry Brisco & Andre the Giant defeat Ole & Gene Anderson

JUNE 21, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
Ole & Gene Anderson defeat Tim Woods & Bobo Brazil by DQ to retain their Georgia Tag Team Titles

JULY 5, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
Ole and Gene Anderson defeat Mr. Wrestling #1 & the Professional by DQ to retain the Georgia Tag Team championships at the holiday card at the Omni.

JULY 26, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
Don Muraco & Mr. Wrestling #1 defeat Ole & Gene Anderson (Non-title)

AUGUST 2, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
Georgia Tag Team Title Match: Mr. Wrestling #1 & #2 defeat Ole & Gene Anderson to win the state titles.

AUGUST 16, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
Ole & Gene Anderson defeat Mr. Wrestling #1 & Harley Race

AUGUST 31, 1974 - GRIFFIN, GA
Ole & Gene Anderson team with Buddy Colt to defeat Mike McCord (future Austin Idol), Mr. Wrestling #1 & Mr. Wrestling #2

SEPTEMBER 20, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
Georgia Tag Team Title Match: Ole & Gene Anderson defeat Mr. Wrestling #1 & #2 to win the state titles.

Harley Race and Buddy Colt defeat Ole & Gene Anderson - Georgia Tag Titles Held-Up

NOVEMBER 1, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
Georgia Tag Team Title Match: Buddy Colt and Roger Kirby defeated Ole & Gene Anderson and are awarded the held up Georgia Tag Team titles.

NOVEMBER 8, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
Rocky Johnson, Ole & Gene Anderson defeat Buddy Colt, Roger Kirby & Bearcat Wright

NOVEMBER 9, 1974 - GRIFFIN, GA
Ole Anderson challenges Buddy Colt for the Georgia Heavyweight Title. 

NOVEMBER 23, 1974 - GRIFFIN, GA
Mr. Wrestling #2, Ole & Gene Anderson defeat Harley Race & the Mighty Yankees

NOVEMBER 29, 1974 - ATLANTA, GA
The Mighty Yankees defeat Ole & Gene Anderson in a "Loser-Leaves-Town" Match

 

The Andersons leave Georgia on late November 1974 to return to the Mid-Atlantic territory where they win the NWA World Tag Team championships. They would not return full-time to Georgia until October of 1976.

 

During 1975, they return to Atlanta for at least two NWA Tag Team title defenses: the first against Rocky Johnson and Jerry Brisco on March 10, and the second against Dick Slater and Mr. Wrestling #2 on December 19, 1975.
