"Outlaw" Ron Bass Passes Away

"Outlaw" Ron Bass
Mid-Atlantic Champion
We are sad to learn of the death of "Outlaw" Ron Bass (Ron Herd) who passed away in a hospital in Florida this week.

Bass had two stints in the Mid-Atlantic territory, the first in the early 80s feuding with the Iron Sheik and Jimmy Valiant. His second run here was in the 80s where he was managed briefly by James J. Dillon and teamed with Black Bart. They were the last team to hold the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team championships, a title that was retired in 1985. He feuded with Buddy Landel, Angelo Mosca, Jr., Buzz Tyler, and others.

Along with the tag title, he also held the Mid-Atlantic heavyweight and TV titles in our area.

Our condolences to the friends and family of Ron Bass. Rest in Peace.
